It's so comforting to know I'm not the only one who does this. When I worked at my old company, we were frequently without a receptionist, and it often fell to me to answer the phone (mostly because the majority of my coworkers would hear the ring, look at the ringing phone, but not answer the frelling thing). So I got used to answering the phone "Good morning [or good afternoon], {name of company}." And it was so automatic that I'd answer the phone at home that way if it rang not long after I got home from work. At my current job, I just answer my desk phone "This is Nomi," (though it took me months to get used to not saying "Editorial; this is Nomi"), so if I do that at home, it's not so bad.
